Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client for an entry-level Online Research & Data Specialist to join their fully remote team. In this role you will scour the web, databases, and internal systems to gather, verify, and organize information that powers our client's business decisions, reporting, and client deliverables. Day to day, you will spend your time searching for and cross-checking information online, logging findings into spreadsheets or internal tools, and flagging inconsistencies before they become problems. People who thrive in this role are naturally curious, comfortable spending long stretches focused on repetitive but important detail work, and enjoy the satisfaction of turning messy raw information into clean, reliable data. Strong written communication and a knack for spotting patterns will help you stand out.

Responsibilities

• Conduct online research to locate, verify, and compile accurate business and contact information
• Enter and update findings in spreadsheets, CRM systems, or proprietary databases
• Cross-check data across multiple sources to confirm accuracy and resolve discrepancies
• Organize large volumes of unstructured information into clear, usable formats
• Follow documented research protocols and adapt them as project needs evolve
• Flag missing, outdated, or suspicious data for further review
• Meet daily and weekly quotas for research volume and data quality
• Collaborate with team leads to clarify research scope and reporting expectations
• Maintain confidentiality and data handling standards for sensitive information
• Summarize research findings in brief written reports when requested

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required, some college coursework preferred
• Strong internet research skills and comfort navigating unfamiliar websites and databases
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy under repetitive tasks
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage time in a remote setting
• Reliable home internet connection and a distraction-free workspace
• Basic familiarity with CRM or data management tools is a plus
• Prior internship or part-time experience in research, data entry, or administrative work is a plus
